Pair of Miniature Painted Screens on Wood Stands

A pair of small table screens, the kind that sat on a scholar's desk to rest the eye between tasks. One is fan or sail-shaped, lacquered and carved with lotus around a painted panel of goldfish, signed with calligraphy and a red seal; the other is an easel form framing a soft landscape of mountains and pines, also signed. Both stand around 15 to 20 cm. The lacquer on the fan screen is scuffed and worn in places, but the painted panels themselves are clean, all shown in the photos. A quietly elegant pair for a desk or a shelf. Carefully packed and posted from Portugal.
