Celadon Glazed Buddha Figural Teapot

Shou Lao 壽老, the god of longevity, lies back with his high domed forehead and doubles as a teapot, under a soft celadon-green glaze; the branch-form handle still carries its original twine binding. Figural pots like this were made to raise a smile at the tea table, and this one still does. There is a little surface grime and some glaze toning, but nothing chipped or cracked. A good small piece for a tea shelf or a chinoiserie corner. Carefully packed and posted from Portugal.
