An oddity, in the best sense. A porcelain ewer moulded as an openwork lucky character, painted in famille verte and jaune enamels over a stippled lime ground with flowers and insects, and reading ji xiang ru yi 吉祥如意, may everything go as you wish. A small foo dog sits on the lid. About 23 cm height. This is a modeller's showpiece rather than a working pot, since the pierced double-spout form was never meant to pour, so it is one for the shelf and the conversation. Sound in structure, with some grime settled in the recesses that a gentle clean would lift.
