Characterful pair of guardian lions in red lacquer with antiqued gilt highlights, one with a pup and one with a brocade ball under the paw, each on a stepped lotus-carved plinth. Approx. 25 cm high. The paint shows attractive age-consistent wear, especially on the bases, with no breaks or losses visible. Mid-20th-century pieces in the Ming-Qing temple style.
